LORETTA BORSTEIN Obituary (nee Goodman) of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on January 26, with her cherished daughters at her side. Beloved wife of the late Jerome Borstein; devoted mother of Karen Borstein of Cleveland and Debra Jan Borstein (Rishi Kant) of Boulder, Colorado; grandmother of Lisa Kant, and sister of Kenneth Goodman (Bette) and the late Jerry Goodman (Cyril). Loretta was born in Lorain, Ohio, to Blema and Sam Goodman. She graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She and Jerome enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 58 years. They loved Cleveland and all it had to offer, especially its cultural life, music, and the arts. They shared a passion for travel, visiting more than 50 countries. They loved sailing and enjoyed many happy times boating with family and friends. Loretta was a devotee of fashion and design. She created a beautiful home filled with art and was always elegantly dressed. Among the organizations with which she volunteered were Hadassah, the Women's Association for Brandeis University, the Better Gardens Club, the National Council of Jewish Women, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. She was a member of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and a generous supporter of Montefiore, the Jewish Community Federation, Women's American Ort, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Seidman Cancer Center of University Hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. In turn, she was cherished by them and will be dearly missed. Services will be held on Sunday, January 28, at 11 am at the Bonda Chapel of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, 23737 Fairmount Blvd., Beachwood, Ohio, followed by internment at Mayfield Cemetery. Family will receive friends following internment at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, until 7 pm. The family will also receive condolence calls at 13901 Shaker Blvd., #3B, Cleveland, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 2 pm - 8 pm. Contributions are suggested to either the Loretta and Jerome Borstein Sukkot Fund c/o Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple or the Seidman Cancer Center of University Hospitals.
