English translation of the Hebrew text from the grave marker:

                          My eyes shed tears
                    On the death
                    Of my father, my teacher
                    R' Yehuda, son of
                    Nachman Yitzchok
                    His pure soul departed
On the fifth day of the month
                    Tevet year 5650
May his soul be bound in the eternal binds of life

The information on the footstone marker and the given name on the St. Louis death records do not match. For Find A Grave pages we rely on the grave marker inscription since that information was selected by the family on the anniversary date of the death of the family member and resulted from further review by the family. If there are conflicts and questions, we rely on the family to confirm the dates and spelling.
