When Milton Sachs Evensky was born on January 27, 1913, in Memphis, Tennessee, his father, Moses, was 45 and his mother, Emma, was 35. He married Lena Rosenberg on June 30, 1942, in Arkansas. They had three children during their marriage. He died on January 31, 2000, in his hometown at the age of 87, and was buried there.

MILTON SACHS EVENSKY, 87, of Memphis, owner of Evensky's Big & Tall Store, died of cancer Monday at his home. Services will be at noon today at Katzman Memorial Chapel with burial in Anshei Sphard Cemetery. Canale Funeral Directors has charge. He was a member of Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth Synagogue, B'nai B'rith, Associate of Hadassah, Jewish War Veterans, a Mason for 50 years, and a World War II veteran. Mr. Evensky, the husband of Lena Rosenberg Evensky, also leaves two daughters, Emily Evensky Steinberg of Memphis and Ranelle Evensky Kibel of Cincinnati; a son, Maury J. Evensky of Memphis; a brother, Herbert Evensky of New Orleans, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Margolin Hebrew Academy or Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth Synagogue. (Published in The Commecial Appeal 2/1/2000)
