Harvey Jacobson was born April 27, 1923 in Atlanta to Rose and Joe Jacobson. He attended Boys High School, graduating in 1940. He also attended Cornell University, where he received a BS Degree in Administrative Engineering in 1944. Upon graduating from Cornell, in June of 1944, he joined the United States Navy, where he served as an officer in World War II on the USS Murrelett, a minesweeper in the Pacific Ocean. After the war, he returned to Atlanta, and worked for Nation Linen Service, starting out in the Engineering Department. He spent 30 years at the company and became President. He was actively involved in many areas of the community. He served on the Boards of Directors of the Temple, the Bremen Jewish Home, the Marcus Jewish Community Center, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. He was a Past President of The Diabetes Association of Atlanta, and was active in supporting Technion University in Haifa, Israel. Harvey had numerous hobbies and interests. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. He loved to read, and always enjoyed being at the beach. He had many, many friends, and is best known for his incredible sense of humor.
