Ella Polishook Katz was born in Russia, the daughter of Reva and Nathan. She married Elias Katz in 1885 in Berdychiv, Zhytomyr, Ukraine. They had four children in 10 years and was buried there.

Mrs. Ella Katz, 74, a resident of Fort Worth for 39 years and active in Jewish organizations, died at noon Thursday at her home, 1103 Fairmount Avenue, after an illness of 14 months.

Mrs. Katz was the widow of E. Katz, who operated a jewelry store on Main Street before his death 34 years ago. She was active in the auxiliary of the Ahavath Sholom Synagogue and in the Council of Jewish Women.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Fannie Baum, Fort Worth; three sons, Robert E. Katz, Jacksonville, Fla.; Jack Katz, Chicago, and Irving Katz, Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Friedman, Fort Worth, and a brother, Max Polishook, Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Robertson-Mueller-Harper Temple by Rabbi Charles Blumenthal of Waco, assisted by Rabbi Philip Graubart, Burial will be in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery.
