Married Sidney Goldberg in 1938 and Nat Sandler in 1956

Roslyn B. Sadler, 90, of Atlanta, died peacefully on December 25th, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by children, Bill Goldberg and wife Bobby, and Robin Sandler and husband Will Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Louis Taratoot; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Terry Blumberg; grandchildren: Sandy Wiley, Michael Goldberg, Lane McCraw, Jeff Greenstein, Jill Polster, Steven Greenstein, Keith Greenstein, Liam Jones, Rachel Jones and six great grandchildren; long time housekeeper and friend Annie Sellars Mapp. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Sidney Goldberg and Nat Sandler and daughter, Linda Goldberg Greenstein, of blessed memory. She was born Z. Roslyn Blumberg on August 19th, 1920, one of five children of Reuben and Alice Blumberg. Jerry, who perished in World War II, was the oldest; Roz came second, followed by Carole (known as Honey), Amy and Robert (Bob). Roz graduated from Girls’ High School in Atlanta and attended the University of Georgia. She was married at a young age to Sidney Goldberg, an Atlanta businessman in 1938 and raised two children, Bill and Linda. Sidney passed away in 1955. In 1956, Ros married Nat Sandler of Charleston, South Carolina, co-founder of Oxford Chemical Corporation. Their daughter, Robin was born in 1957. Roz was known for her irreverent humor and stunning beauty. She saw the beauty in everything around her. She played an active role in the design of her home, which held a treasured collection of art, objects, books and in the gardens which she planned and maintained. Roz was an artist who excelled in a variety of media, but stone sculpture was her passion. She spent hours upon end in her greenhouse, which also served as her studio, with her beloved sisters, Honey and Amy, by her side. She had showings at galleries in both Atlanta and Palm Beach, where she and Nat made a second home. Roz loved to travel – Paris and Venice being among her favorite destinations - and she loved to play - poke and backgammon being among her favorite indulgences. She was an inspiration and delight to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as were they to her. She was an avid supporter of the High Museum, The Atlanta History Center and Temple Sisterhood and The Atlanta Humane Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childhood Autism Foundation (CADEF), 1551 Shoup Court, Decatur, GA 30033 or the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at The Temple. The committal service will be for family only. Arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, Atlanta.
